FALL
DISTRICT CONFERENCE
Oklahoma District Fall District Conference was held
October 10 & 11 at Western Hills Lodge on Ft. Gibson
Lake near Wagoner. Eight clubs were represented, as
well as the Jacksonville, AR club. Pryor Creek did
an excellent job of hosting the event, with great
meals, beautiful decorations, and a fun event on
Friday evening. Martha Gray and Wayne Perego were
the co-chairs. The Tulsa Police club sponsored the
golf tournament on Friday, and Kenny Teague of
Southside Tulsa was in charge of the hospitality
suite. On Saturday, in addition to the District
Meeting & PAC Meeting, three breakout training
seminars were officered: Presidents, Presidents
elect, and Board Chairs; Secretaries and Treasurers;
Team Building, Recruitment & Retention. Seminar
presenters were Rowdy Williams, Carolyn Collette,
Marcia Boutwell, Jearl Meeks, & Willis Plute.
Attendees voted
to designate fines and other funds taken in to a
Hurricane Ike Relief Fund to benefit the Sertomans
in the East Texas District who lost their homes and
belongings to the hurricane. $720.00 was realized
from fines, auction items, and donations. Clubs
wishing to donate should contact Marcia Boutwell.
Clubs receiving
awards at FDC will be listed in the November
newsletter.
