Hearing Screening Hearing Screening of school students at Berryhill Schools is a primary sponsorship of the Townwest Sertoma Club. Each year the club members work with Berryhill SERTEEN Club members and students from the University of Tulsa to screen selected students. It has been a great partnership that brings together the four groups. In 2011 the club and TU students started screening the Remington Elementary School students in the Tulsa Public Schools system.
SERTOMA SHOP The Sertoma SHOP is the Tulsa area Sertoma Clubs combined sponsorship. SHOP is the acronym for Sertoma Handicapped Opportunity Workshop. Businesses provide work and job opportunities for handicapped workers. The State of Oklahoma and others provide information on handicapped workers seeking jobs. The Sertoma SHOP managers work to match workers with jobs and skills. The SHOP has been ongoing since the 1980's and has provided great opportunities for many businesses and workers.
Hearing Aid Recycling - SHARP The Sertoma Hearing Aid Recycling Program - SHARP is a specialty program that brings together willing doctors, specialists, technicians and club members who locate, donate, repair and use the repaired hearing aids to bring back some hearing capability to many with hearing disabilities.
Tulsa Area Law Awards Club members from the Townwest Sertoma Club have been honoring Tulsa area law enforcement officers since 1989 when they started recognizing the Tulsa County Sheriff Deputy of the Year. In the following years they started recognizing the Oklahoma Highway Patrol Troop B Trooper of the Year and the Tulsa 911 Emergency Center Dispatcher of the Year.
